DESIGN CONCEPT

Our design strategy focused on seamlessly combining modern style with pet-friendly elements. We aimed to create a welcoming and open environment, maximizing the use of natural light, and enhancing the overall flow of the space. The remodeled first floor exudes a contemporary and sophisticated charm, serving as an ideal setting for our client’s high-quality appliances and beloved four-legged companions.

ORIGINAL FLOOR PLAN

The original floor plan had an open concept design for the kitchen and den, but the dining room was separated and placed in a corner, resulting in a smaller kitchen space. The rest of the layout would remain unchanged, and we would focus on making cosmetic adjustments.

NEW FLOOR PLAN

The new floor plan includes a larger open concept design between the kitchen and den. We removed the wall between the dining room and living room to extend the kitchen, creating more space for appliances and counters. Instead of having a formal dining room, the homeowners and our designer decided on a two-tiered kitchen island with seating. In the den, we added a sliding door, updated the recessed lighting, installed new carpeting, and improved the fireplace. We also refreshed the foyer by renovating the staircase, applying fresh paint, and adding a new chandelier. Throughout the first floor, we installed new light fixtures, doorknobs, and flooring. These cosmetic changes brought more light into the space and added the modern touches the homeowners wanted.

Our clients wanted a modern and bright kitchen, so we opted for stainless steel appliances, herringbone tile, and Lucas pendants that resemble globes.

DETAILS:

CABINETS

We chose bright white cabinets with silver hardware to match the stainless steel appliances. To create contrast, we added a blue, two-tiered kitchen island with a white Quartz top. Additionally, we installed feeding bowls in two of the bottom cabinets to create a designated space for their dogs to eat. This not only provides convenient storage but also helps keep the kitchen neat and organized.

TILE AND STONE

White cabinets meant that we had the opportunity to play with textures. We decided to use marble granite countertops and backsplashes, as well as herringbone white tile. The result is a harmonious blend of patterns and textures.

FINISHES

Our clients wanted a modern and bright kitchen, so we opted for stainless steel appliances, herringbone tile, and Lucas pendants that resemble globes.
