Doylestown Kitchen and Bath Remodel
DESIGN CONCEPT
This project focused on transforming both the kitchen and primary bathroom into bright, functional, and timeless spaces that feel open, welcoming, and easy to live in every day. The goal was to improve flow, maximize storage, and create a more cohesive connection between rooms while maintaining a classic, refined aesthetic. In both spaces, the design balances clean lines, warm materials, and thoughtful details to create rooms that feel elevated but comfortable and highly functional.
ORIGINAL FLOOR PLAN
The original kitchen layout was confined by perimeter cabinetry and soffits that visually lowered the ceiling and made the space feel more enclosed. The existing island was undersized and did not provide enough usable workspace or seating. Storage was limited and inefficiently distributed, and the overall flow between the kitchen and adjacent dining area felt tight and segmented.
The primary bathroom’s original layout lacked both openness and efficient storage. The shower and fixtures felt visually heavy, and the room did not take full advantage of its footprint for comfort, accessibility, or organization.
NEW FLOOR PLAN
The kitchen was completely reworked to create a more open and functional layout. A larger, centrally located island now anchors the space, providing generous prep area, storage, and seating. Perimeter cabinetry was reorganized to improve workflow and storage efficiency, and the removal of soffits allows the space to feel taller, brighter, and more expansive. The updated layout also strengthens the connection to the dining area, making the kitchen better suited for both everyday living and entertaining.
The primary bathroom layout was redesigned to improve circulation, comfort, and accessibility. The shower area was reconfigured to feel more open and spacious, while the vanity and storage areas were optimized for better organization and daily use.
FINISHES
Throughout both spaces, the finishes were selected to create a bright, timeless palette with subtle contrast and warmth. Light surfaces are paired with warm wood tones and clean, classic details to ensure the spaces feel fresh yet enduring. The overall look is cohesive, calm, and designed to age gracefully over time.
CABINETS
The cabinetry in both the kitchen and bathroom features a clean, classic door style that reinforces the timeless character of the home. In the kitchen, full-height cabinetry maximizes storage and enhances the vertical presence of the space, while specialized storage solutions improve everyday functionality. In the bathroom, the vanity cabinetry provides ample storage while maintaining a streamlined, uncluttered appearance.
TILE & STONE
In the kitchen, stone surfaces were used to create durable, elegant countertops with natural movement and visual interest, paired with a light, classic tile backsplash that reflects light and keeps the space feeling open and fresh.
In the primary bathroom, tile selections were carefully layered to define each zone of the room. The shower walls feature a clean, classic tile pattern, while the shower floor and main floor use contrasting shapes and textures for visual interest and slip resistance. Stone surfaces at the vanity and half walls add continuity, durability, and a refined finish to the space.
