Doylestown Kitchen and Master Bath Remodel
DESIGN CONCEPT
This couple approached us to redesign their kitchen, which lacked functionality and often felt cramped. Our design concept focused on creating a clean, neutral space without relying solely on white. The family loved this approach so much that we applied the same concept to other areas of their home that we remodeled.ORIGINAL FLOOR PLAN
The original floor plan was narrow and dark; The oversized walk-in pantry pushed the ovens closer to the kitchen island, leaving very little space for the refrigerator, walkway, and cooking which over time became a nuisance.
In the master bathroom, we retained the stunning skylight, which elevated the space. However, the homeowners wanted to remove the large jacuzzi tub, as it occupied most of the space, was time-consuming to clean, and wasn’t being used frequently.
NEW FLOOR PLAN
To achieve the desired look for this family home, we opened up the layout by reducing the oversized walk-in pantry. We brightened the space with white cabinetry, additional recessed lighting, and stylish light fixtures above both the kitchen island and the dining room table.
In the bathroom, we removed the large tub that dominated the space and added double sinks for increased counter space. We also incorporated a closet and cabinets for better organization. By rearranging the layout, we moved the shower to the front wall and the toilet to the back, creating the illusion of privacy. This redesign allowed for optimal flow during everyday prep time.
FINISHES
The kitchen finishes enhance the neutral look the homeowners desired. White cabinets with black hardware provide a modern, clean, and elegant contrast. Light fixtures above the kitchen island, sink, and dining room table elevate the space, making it warm and welcoming.
The master bathroom follows the same style, with a touch of color from the blue tiling, creating a tranquil atmosphere complemented by silver hardware and patterned wallpaper.
CABINETS
Our clients prioritize top-tier organization, so we opted for Origami White cabinets extending to the ceiling, featuring seeded glass doors for added aesthetics. These are complemented by matte black Atlas hardware. To avoid an all-white kitchen, we introduced contrast with the neutral Calacatta Laza Oro countertop and Trance kitchen backsplash. This design allows for discreet storage of all food and preparation items, seamlessly blending functionality with style
TILE & STONE
By leveraging the neutral palette of the space, we seamlessly layered various textures, prominently featuring exquisite tiling. The owners selected Trance Arabesque tiles for their elegant arched niche, maintaining a cohesive aesthetic with matching rectangular tiles for the backsplash. This sophisticated tiling is complemented by warm white countertops with subtle gold accents, beautifully highlighted by natural sunlight and additional lighting.
