Doylestown Master Bath Remodel
DESIGN CONCEPT
Our design approach for this master bathroom remodel was to create a modern bath with a nod to the home’s mid-century style.ORIGINAL FLOOR PLAN
The original floor plan featured a tub that the homeowner’s wanted to keep and a shower tucked into a corner. It had very little storage which made the room feel cluttered and disorganized. Our design team reimagined the space and incorporated strategic changes to help with organization and functionality.
NEW FLOOR PLAN
The new floor plan introduces thoughtful compartmentalization for each function of the bathroom, blending storage and aesthetics seamlessly. Considering the needs of their children, we retained the tub as requested, maintaining its original size. However, we expanded the shower, adding a niche, bench seating, and strategically placed the plumbing fixtures opposite the shower head to prevent accidents from extreme temperatures.
The original cabinetry was small and cramped with tiny Jack and Jill sinks. This was replaced with larger oak cabinetry and Kohler Caxton rectangular double sinks. We complemented the new setup with round rectangular wall mirrors, modern gold vanity light fixtures that enhance natural light from the window, and painted beadboard to unify the space. These updates not only modernized the bathroom but also preserved the home’s overall mid-century aesthetics, accommodated the children, and significantly improved the functionality of the space.
FINISHES
We transformed this outdated bathroom and gave it a modern mid-century vibe, while preserving one of their favorite features: the beloved tub their children enjoy.CABINETS
The cabinets are stained Suede Oak with Honey Bronze hardware to create an earthy and serene tone. To maintain a neutral, modern palette, we installed alabaster white quartz countertops with a light grey grain. The fixtures are finished in beautiful black and gold.
