DESIGN CONCEPT
The homeowners’ goal was to update their kitchen to a modern farmhouse style while keeping the same layout. Our designer team planned a kitchen with white shiplap backsplash, matte black hardware, cabinets in “oyster white” and “bleu” colors, and Quartz countertops in Calcatta Botanica and Blanco Arabescato. The final design included a mix of textures for visual appeal while accentuating the modern farmhouse feel the homeowners wanted.
ORIGINAL FLOOR PLAN
The original kitchen had an oblong-shaped island that limited functionality, a small pantry with not enough storage, and older, stacked double ovens.NEW FLOOR PLAN
Our design team replaced the kitchen island with a larger, rectangular island to add extra seating. They also removed the pantry to make room for a new refrigerator and beverage station. The stacked double ovens were replaced with an oversized double oven and range to provide more pantry storage.
FINISHES
The sink backsplash has a vertical, white shiplap design. We used matte black hardware for the cabinets, plumbing fixtures, and pendant lights. These details create a modern farmhouse style as well as add contrast to the white cabinetry.
CABINETS
This kitchen’s upper cabinets are from Wellborn Cabinets in their Bishop door style in the color “Oyster White.” The island cabinets match their counterparts in style but add contrast in the color “Bleu.”
TILE & STONE
This kitchen features MSI quartz countertops in the color Calcatta Botanica around the sink and range, as well as on the backsplash behind the range. The quartz countertops on the new island are from MSI in the color Blanco Arabescato. The coloration in this quartz compliments the blue color palette of the island without feeling out of place within the kitchen.
