New Hope Kitchen and Mudroom Remodel
DESIGN CONCEPT
The couple wanted to modernize their outdated kitchen, focusing on maximizing functionality and creating a family-friendly space. A key requirement was a seatable island for their family of four, along with improved transitions between the kitchen, mudroom, and laundry areas.
NEW FLOOR PLAN
We removed the rear staircase, reclaimed a portion of the garage, and eliminated the small closet. This transformation allowed for the addition of a seatable island, an expanded mudroom and laundry area, and more accessible storage. The bedroom above the removed staircase gained additional closet space.

FINISHES
The finishes reflect a harmonious blend of the homeowners’ contrasting styles. Walnut wood became the focal point for accents, including the island. The primary palette combined neutral cream tones with moody “Peppercorn” cabinetry. The existing flooring was retained in the kitchen, while the mudroom received gray tile in a herringbone pattern for a contemporary feel. Laundry room cabinetry matched the moody tones of the kitchen.
CABINETS
The cabinetry featured three distinct tones: walnut accents, creamy neutrals, and Peppercorn for a bold contrast. This choice balanced modern aesthetics with transitional warmth.

TILE & STONE
The mudroom floor was outfitted with gray neutral tile in a herringbone pattern, offering durability and a modern flair.
