DESIGN CONCEPT

This client moved back into her childhood home and wanted to update and open up the space to reflect her transitional style. The kitchen, which was small and outdated, needed to be modernized and expanded to meet the needs of her family. Additionally, she wanted to create a better flow between the kitchen and living room. The design successfully combines classic elements with clean lines and subtle accents, resulting in a sophisticated and inviting atmosphere.

ORIGINAL FLOOR PLAN

The original kitchen had a wall separating it from the dining room, which restricted space. Additionally, the client wanted an expansion of the small entrance to the living room in order to create a fully open area.

NEW FLOOR PLAN

Our first step in remodeling this kitchen was to remove the wall that separated the kitchen and dining room. This helped to unify and expand the space. We also expanded the entryway between their newly remodeled living room and the kitchen. This allowed for better flow and ease of conversation when entertaining. Additionally, we added two new triple casement windows to bring in natural light and take advantage of the beautiful view outside. To create a cohesive look, we installed new LVP flooring throughout the entire home. In terms of functionality, we added more storage throughout the kitchen and even included accent shelving on the end of the island. To accommodate the homeowner’s busy lifestyle, we installed pop-up outlets in the island which also have wireless charging capabilities.

The cabinet hardware, plumbing fixtures, and lighting fixtures all have a brushed gold finish, adding warmth and luxury to the space and complementing the abundant natural lighting.

The kitchen cabinets are from Wellborn Cabinets in their Belmont door style.

The backsplash behind the cooktop is crafted from a gold Calacatta herringbone tile, serving as a focal point in the kitchen.

CABINETS

The kitchen cabinets are from Wellborn Cabinets in their Belmont door style. The cabinetry along the perimeter is in the color “Glacier” with a pewter glaze, while the island features matching cabinetry in the color “Bleu.”

TILE AND STONE

The countertops in this kitchen are made of a marble-look Silestone from Cosentino. This choice ensures durability and easy maintenance. The backsplash behind the cooktop is crafted from a gold Calacatta herringbone tile, serving as a focal point in the kitchen. Surrounding this centerpiece is a textured white subway tile, enhancing the transitional style of the space.

FINISHES

This kitchen remodel features stainless steel appliances, such as a 6-burner gas range, a double-door refrigerator, and a wine fridge. The cabinet hardware, plumbing fixtures, and lighting fixtures all have a brushed gold finish, adding warmth and luxury to the space and complementing the abundant natural lighting. We also installed warm brown LVP flooring throughout the entire home, which beautifully complements the warmth brought by the hardware and accessories.

The finished kitchen remodel brings refreshed clarity and purpose to how the space functions and feels. Reworking the layout improved the flow between prep, cook, and gathering areas, making daily routines more intuitive and enjoyable. Material and finish selections were chosen to create a cohesive palette that feels warm, composed, and visually balanced. Thoughtful lighting and fixture choices enhance both task work and overall ambience, helping the room feel bright and welcoming throughout the day. Storage solutions and surface materials were selected to support organization and long-term use. The result is a kitchen that elevates daily life, supports the way the homeowners live and entertain, and adds lasting design quality to the home.
