Doylestown Basement Remodel
DESIGN CONCEPT
This Doylestown Basement Remodel turned an underused area into a functional lower level with spaces for lounging, exercising, and entertaining. The design focuses on comfort, performance, wellness features, and subtle luxury finishes, creating a practical extension of the home for everyday and long-term use.
NEW FLOOR PLAN
The redesigned space features an open layout with defined zones for living, fitness, and hospitality. The main area includes a sleek kitchenette, while the lounge doubles as a living or entertainment room. The gym is upgraded with wall mirrors and an infrared sauna. Mechanical and storage spaces are kept accessible but hidden. Enhanced lighting includes recessed fixtures, motion sensors in the gym, and under-cabinet illumination.
FINISHES
Finishes were chosen for warmth, durability, and a refined look. Luxury vinyl plank flooring in Optoro Brazilian Walnut Cocoa covers the main areas, while new carpet updates the stairway. Neutral paint brightens walls and trim, and matching millwork ensures a seamless transition with existing elements.
CABINETS
The design uses the Astoria full overlay panel door style with slab doors and vertical grain orientation. Cabinet construction consists of a 3/4-inch MDF core veneer plywood with edge banding and a 3/4-inch hardwood frame. The cabinets are finished with Inkwell paint, providing a modern appearance in the space.
