Wynnewood Kitchen Remodel
DESIGN CONCEPT
This Wynnewood Kitchen remodel focuses on bringing a fresh, modern elegance to the heart of the home. A central island replaces the old peninsula for better flow and prep space. The open layout uses earthy tones, metallic accents, and stylish lighting. And upgraded cabinetry and practical appliance placement ensure that the kitchen is both functional and attractive.
ORIGINAL FLOOR PLAN
The initial kitchen configuration featured a peninsula and an overhead microwave, which restricted both counter space and workflow. Tall cabinets positioned opposite the sink made the space feel confined. Hardwood flooring continued from the kitchen into nearby rooms, and the placement of the microwave above the range resulted in insufficient space for a hood or a designated visual focal point.NEW FLOOR PLAN
The floor plan now features a spacious island with seating and storage, replacing the peninsula. The microwave is integrated into the cabinetry, allowing for a new hood above the range. Cabinetry near the sink has been reduced to create openness. Kitchen flooring was patched with hardwood from the powder room, which is now tiled. Other updates include floating pantry shelves, a beverage center, and relocated plumbing and lighting.
FINISHES
Walls and ceiling are painted in Swiss Coffee. Hardware throughout is finished in Honey Bronze for a soft, warm metallic accent. The island is accented by Kate One Light Sphere Pendants, adding ambient glow and modern elegance. Undercabinet lighting and dimmable recessed fixtures ensure functional, adjustable lighting throughout the space.
CABINETS
Custom kitchen cabinetry features slab drawer fronts in a Maple wood with Evergreen Fog painted finish. The hardware consists of pulls and knobs in Honey Bronze. The cabinetry design includes custom inserts such as a trash pullout, corner Super Susan, and a cutting board/tray divider for enhanced organization.
TILE & STONE
The kitchen features polished Quartz countertops with eased edges, and a Saratoga Wheat glossy ceramic tile backsplash finished with Light Almond grout and brushed brass trim, stopping just below the windowsill for a clean visual break.
