Doylestown Powder Room and Hall Bathroom Remodel
DESIGN CONCEPT
This family sought a remodel for their hallway bathroom and powder room after purchasing their home as a ‘fixer-upper.’ Our design approach focused on updating these spaces with natural materials, including slate-inspired flooring, hickory cabinets, and artisanal-style tiles. These choices brought a modern, yet warm, finish to both rooms.
ORIGINAL FLOOR PLAN
The original powder room floor plan was compromised when the family added a sunroom, leaving the space with nothing but wooden boards covering the window. The narrow entryway and a closet dominated the room, making it feel cramped.
The hallway bathroom consisted of the same cramped style with one opening of space not used for anything functional at all.
NEW FLOOR PLAN
In the new plan for the powder room, we created a more open and inviting space by removing the unnecessary closet and extending the entryway into the bathroom. We added a sink and floor-to-ceiling cabinets to maximize storage and functionality, making the room both practical and aesthetically pleasing.
For the hall bathroom, we maintained the existing layout but introduced significant cosmetic upgrades to enhance functionality. We repositioned the sink away from the toilet, converting the tub into a walk-in shower, and rotating the toilet. We created a more open and harmonious environment with a perfect sense of feng shui.
FINISHES
Our clients envisioned a modern transformation, updating their bathrooms for the first time in over 30 years. They chose natural materials, including slate flooring, stained hickory cabinets, and artisanal-style tiles, to achieve a contemporary yet timeless look.
CABINETS
We chose biscotti-stained Yorktowne cabinetry, which beautifully complemented the charcoal blue paint in the hall bath. The selection is further enhanced by the contrast provided by Moderne brass plumbing fixtures in both rooms, creating a well-rounded and cohesive design.
TILE & STONE
For both bathrooms, biscotti-stained cabinetry was selected, providing a perfect neutral base to complement the chosen tile and stone. Angela Harris dark gray matte LVP flooring was used in both spaces, adding a touch of sophistication.
In the hallway bathroom, we contrasted the shower fixtures and paint with white ceramic Bedrosians tile for the shower walls and Namaste herringbone tile for the shower floor and niche, bringing a harmonious balance to the design.
Both bathrooms were completed with sleek white sinks, maintaining a clean and timeless aesthetic
