About Washington Crossing, PA
Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania is a small unincorporated village in Upper Makefield Township, Bucks County best known as the western launch point of George Washington’s famous crossing of the Delaware River on the night of December 25–26, 1776. Every December, the community commemorates the historic crossing with a public reenactment, drawing visitors from around the region.
At the heart of the village is Washington Crossing Historic Park. The park preserves the actual embarkation point of Washington and his troops and historic colonial-era buildings. Beyond its historical significance, Washington Crossing offers a peaceful, rural-suburban lifestyle with access to outdoor recreation like walking and biking trails along the river, picnicking, boating, and easy access to nearby scenic areas.
