Doylestown Kitchen and Master Bath Remodel
DESIGN CONCEPT
A couple approached us to redesign their kitchen, which was both cramped and lacked functionality. Our design concept aimed to create a clean, neutral space that didn’t rely entirely on white. The family loved this approach so much that we decided to use the same design concept in other areas of their home that we were also remodeling.
ORIGINAL FLOOR PLAN
The original floor plan of the kitchen was cramped and dim. An oversized walk-in pantry pushed the ovens too close to the kitchen island and left minimal room for the refrigerator, walkways, and workspace.
In the master bathroom, we decided to keep the beautiful skylight that brightened the space. However, the homeowners chose to eliminate the large jacuzzi tub, because it took up so much space, required extensive cleaning, and was infrequently used
NEW FLOOR PLAN
We transformed the kitchen layout by downsizing the oversized walk-in pantry, used recessed lighting and stylish light fixtures above the kitchen island and dining room table for improved lighting, and created a lighter and brighter feel with elegant white cabinetry.
In the bathroom, we eliminated the bulky tub that overwhelmed the area and replaced it with double sinks with lots of counter space. We also built a closet and added cabinets for better organization. We relocated the shower to the front wall and positioned the toilet at the back, effectively creating a sense of privacy. This redesign helps with flow during daily routines.
FINISHES
The homeowners wanted a neutral palette, so we installed elegant white cabinets paired with sleek black hardware to create a modern and sophisticated contrast. Stylish light fixtures above the kitchen island, sink, and dining room table add warmth and charm and help make the space inviting and welcoming.
The master bathroom is also neutral style. We used blue tiles to add a splash of color, silver hardware to add brightness, and intricate patterned wallpaper for interest. The finished bathroom conveys a tranquil ambiance perfect for relaxation.
CABINETS
Less clutter and better organization were a priority for our clients, so we installed cabinets that extend to the ceiling in the kitchen. The cabinets, finished in Origami White, are paired with sleek matte black Atlas hardware to break up the all-white appearance, and we also incorporated contrasting elements like a neutral Calacatta Laza Oro countertop, a stylish Trance kitchen backsplash, and included several cabinets with seeded glass doors.
TILE & STONE
We used textured tiles and stone to add depth to the neutral palette of the kitchen. The homeowners chose Trance Arabesque tiles for an arched niche, which blend beautifully with the matching rectangular tiles used for the backsplash. Warm white countertops with subtle gold accents highlight the tilework while reflecting natural sunlight and strategically placed lighting.
